Accelerated Reader - Test Instructions 

1. To begin, you should see a screen that says “Welcome to MacOS.”  Log onto the computer: first name (space) last name.  Then click on “enter.”  Next to Password, type “123.”  Click “Login.” 

(Please note: if you are not at the login page, click on “Special” at the top left menu bar and click on “Logout” to insure that you are not taking a test under someone else’s name.  Then log onto the computer as instructed above.) 

2. Double click on the folder “Items for _____________ (teacher’s last name).”

3. Double click on “Accelerated Reader Student.”

4. Click the mouse once on the screen or press any key:

5. Select class by clicking on your teacher’s name, then click “Login”:

6. Select your name by clicking on it to highlight it, and then click on “Login.”

7. Type in your password: 123, then click on “OK.”

8. Click on “Take a Reading Practice Quiz”:

9. Scroll down to find your book by its title, or type the first few letters of the book title.  A little box pops up that says “Title Starts With…”  Click “OK.”  Look carefully at the title, as there are sometimes books with the same or similar titles:

10. Click once to highlight your test, then, at the bottom, click on “Take Quiz.”

11. The next screen asks if you’re sure you want to take that particular test.  Reread the title and make sure your name is at the top.  Click on “Yes” if it is your name at the top and if it is the correct test.  Click “No” if you selected the wrong test.

12. Using you mouse, click on the letter of your answer for each test question and then click on “Next.”  You may also use the up or down arrows and the return key.  For a voice test, the computer will automatically read the question and all four answer choices.  To hear it repeat the question and answers, click on the question again.  Continue on with all questions.  It will report the results at the end of the test.

13. After completing the test, ALWAYS CLICK “Logout”!!!
